Resource Hub

Every tool you need already exists — this page tells you exactly what each one is for and where to click. Most membership problems are adoption problems.

The lead pipeline (highest priority)

These three national tools are how families actually find and join your unit. If you master nothing else, master these.

BeAScout — your unit's public pin

The public map where families search for a unit. A stale pin silently sends them elsewhere.

Where to click: Key 3: my.scouting.org → Organization Manager → Unit Pin. Verify leader, meeting time, and switch Apply Online ON.
Invitation Manager — your leads inbox

Every BeAScout inquiry lands here. Also generates your unit's unique join URL and QR code.

Where to click: my.scouting.org → Invitation Manager → your unit → copy URL / download QR.
Application Manager — accept applications

Where online applications wait for approval. The standard: act within 24 hours.

Where to click: my.scouting.org → Application Manager. Assign one person (your NMC) to check it daily during fall.

Marketing materials

Professional, on-brand materials without a designer.

Scouting America Brand Center

Customizable flyers, posters, yard signs, door hangers, social graphics, email templates, and brand-approved photos — Dynamic Templates you edit in the browser, organized by program and activity.

Where to click: Needs a free Brand Center account (register at scouting.webdamdb.com/splash.php). Templates live under Logos → DIY Elements; add your unit's QR code manually after downloading.
BeAScout QR code how-to

National's official guide for generating your unit's BeAScout QR code — the code that goes on every Brand Center template and our Toolkit signs.

Where to click: Or skip it: our Toolkit generates the printable QR poster from your join URL directly.
Marketing & Membership Hub

National recruiting playbooks, webinars, geofencing guides, and campaign kits.

Where to click: Browse by season — the fall recruitment kit drops each summer.
Membership HQ Unit Toolkit

Our own generator: QR posters, car signs, social posts, email flows, and call scripts personalized to your unit in seconds.

Where to click: Toolkit → fill in your unit once → print and copy.

2026 national campaign — align, don't duplicate

The 2026 National Recruitment Activation Playbook (May 2026) sets the wave we ride: national paid media runs July–October, the national announcement lands in August, and every council material ends with the same call to action — "Visit BeAScout.org to start your Scouting adventure."

2026 National Activation Playbook

Target audiences (parents of kids 5–10, Hispanic and multicultural families), master messaging, the Jul–Oct media timeline, earned-media pitch scripts, and event playbooks. National sends customizable news releases for the Aug/Sep/Oct media moments.

Where to click: Full deck in Data & Uploads → Library. Media questions: pr@scouting.org; marketing: darin.kinn@scouting.org; general: your CST Director.
Local ads that don't fight national ads

National buys search, social, video, and streaming Jul–Oct. Councils should NOT bid on branded keywords (cub scouts, scouting near me…) — it raises costs for everyone.

Where to click: Geo-target instead: Meta ads at city +25 miles, parents 32–44; search only location-specific phrases like 'Kailua cub scout pack'.
Scouting America FAQ (for media & parents)

The approved answers on safety, the name change, ages, and starting new units — use these verbatim when reporters or parents ask.

Where to click: Bookmark for join nights and interviews; the playbook's spokesperson do/don't list is in the deck.

Council resources

Aloha Council–specific support.

scoutinghawaii.org membership resources

Council recruitment materials, event listings, and district executive contacts.

Where to click: Your DE is your first call for school access, flyer printing, and recruitment kits.
Financial assistance

Simplified online application, revamped in 2024. Cost should never keep a family out.

Where to click: Mention it at every sign-up night — it's confidential and takes five minutes.
Fall Recruitment Guide (2025 edition)

The council's sign-up night playbook: five-station format, Rule of Seven promotion timeline, orientation agendas.

Where to click: Find it in Data & Uploads → Library, or ask your DE for the current-year edition.
